Welcome to Oak Grove School Counseling!
Oak Grove’s Guiding Principles: Be Kind, Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be
Responsible, are the cornerstone to my work with our students. My hope is to help every Oak Grove child be
their best, to feel inspired, safe and supported during their school day. I
spend time with all the Oak Grove kids, visiting classrooms and meeting
individually with them. Your child may
participate in a small group focused on a variety of topics, i.e., friendships,
social skills, impulse control, etc. There’s also the “lunch bunches- each
year, at some point, all Oak Grover’s will have lunch with me and a small group
of their peers. It’s a chance to get out
of the noisy cafeteria and chat about whatever.
I see our kids managing all sorts
of stressors every day. They work hard to sort things out so they can do
schoolwork, have friends and get along with others. Sometimes they need a quiet
place or a chance to talk; sometimes they need to problem solve and hear
another perspective. As their School
Counselor, I try to find whatever might help to settle a child, so they can
learn and be successful. Students can
visit with me when the need arises or when a parent or teacher thinks it would
be helpful.
Parents and families, please stop
by. Whether it be about parenting concerns, school issues or community
resources, I am here as a resource for you too. Call
me with any questions or concerns, 802-257-4678 or email me at kmason@wsesu.org.
I look forward to visiting with
you!
