Student Leaders at Oak Grove School

The Oak Grove Student Leadership Council is a group of a sixteen 5th and 6th grade students. Their goal "is to organize activities that bring Oak Grove students together, build school spirit and create a safe and friendly school for everybody."  They hope to "make a difference" both in school and in our local community.

Our Student Leaders do all sorts of things to support the guiding principles: they create skits for all school sing, organize spirit weeks and help the younger children at school wide events.  A favorite activity is when our Student Leaders read-a-loud in the younger grades.

Most recently the Student Leadership Council held a bake sale and raised over $200 for the benefit of Morningside Shelter.  Next month they aim to make "Welcome to Spring" cards for the residents at Thompson House.  They are an ambitious, dedicated and inspiring group of kids!
